General Needs Receives $500 Donation from Regional Networking Group; the Donation is One in a Series of Donations

General Needs, a nonprofit organization that focuses on helping homeless Veterans and their families by providing basic necessities through charitable donations and support, received a $500 donation from The Breakfast Club, a networking group based out of Westchester. The money will be used to purchase 20 winter coats for Veterans.

The Breakfast Club was founded by Robert Withers of M1 Capital and Kenneth Meccia of Statewide Abstract in 2018. “Each December we identify an organization that we feel needs extra help. This year it was difficult to choose with so many facing unexpected challenges, but we agreed that this organization which supports Veterans was a good choice this season,” stated Withers.  He also noted the support among the members of the group during Covid has really helped everyone get through this challenging year.

In August, the group established a GoFundMe page for one of their members who was diagnosed with ALS. They also recently began purchasing computers for students who are without them for school assignments. Two computers will be delivered to students in need before the New Year.  Past donations also included $500 to Feeding Westchester and $500 to New Rochelle Hospital ICU.

In addition to Withers and Meccia, the members of the group include John Barrett of RM Friedland, Richard Bosco of Bosco, John & Company, CPA, P.C., Richard Flahive of Hightower Westchester, Ron Hoina, AIA LEED AP of Design Development Architects, Maria Karsou of Keller Williams, Richard Klein, Esq. of Klein Greco Law, Michael Murphy of Murphy Brothers Contracting, Ben Palancia, Albert Palancia Agency, Inc., Kathleen M. Reilly of Patriot Bank, Fenton Soliz of Bank of America, Jean Coney of Langan Engineering & Environmental Services, Risa Hoag of GMG Public Relations, and Roy Stillman of Stillman Realty Management.

“Some of us have been working together for three decades, so during this difficult year, it is comforting to join forces with old friends to bring joy to people in need,” stated Meccia.

The group meets every other week to share real estate and financial news. For more information contact Robert Withers at rwithers@mortgage1.com
